Lendo Fellowship Program

  • Arthur J. Lendo, Ph.D., is a distinguished Pennsbury alumnus with a strong sense of dedication to family, classmates, school, and community. A member of the Class of 1964, Dr. Lendo is the first and only Pennsbury graduate to endow a fund to support PHS students in their academic and co-curricular pursuits. The Lendo Fellowship Program was established in 2006 to honor Dr. Lendo's parents and three uncles who served in the military during World War II.

While attending Pennsbury in the early 1960s, Dr. Lendo was a student scholar, athlete, and leader. Over the years, he became very grateful for the educational, athletic, and leadership experiences that were made available to him. They provided a vital foundation for his future accomplishments in professional and community life. The funding of a significant Fellowship endowment is a tangible expression of his appreciation and a vehicle for giving back to the area where he was born and raised.

The Fellowship Program supports and facilitates additional, unique learning opportunities that will enable today's Pennsbury students to further expand their thinking, abilities, skills, and perspectives. The fund also provides some measure of financial assistance to the hard-working parents in the District seeking to improve the lives of their children through enhanced education. Through his family's namesake Fellowship Program, Dr. Lendo hopes to inspire Pennsbury students to become great leaders, acquire the skills necessary to achieve success in a global society, and to share knowledge with their peers.
